Fond memories of camp he founded

Thanks to Julie Muhlstein for her tribute article in honor of Jack Geer and his 100th birthday. Any time another human being reaches the century mark is a wonder to behold.

I worked for five years at Miracle Ranch, which Jack Geer founded in 1960, and two at Island Lake. My camp name was “Swish.” There were incredible leaders — Peterson, Wolotira, Hill, Welch, Mayden and Smidt — at the lake. All unbelievable people. The stunning beauty of the horses and the raw thrill of the motorbikes were undeniable blessings.

However, seeing the way Almighty God worked through a united Christian staff to teach and bless the young campers was definitely the biggest highlight of the whole enchilada. Only eternity will reveal how big of a deal it was in the Good Lord’s sovereign plan.

But one thing is for sure: Jack Geer has been right in the middle of all of it.
