On Nov. 26, my family of four experienced a garage fire that began while we were away from home. We cannot begin to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude for all of the support that we have received from family, friends and even strangers during our neediest time.
First, we need to thank our neighbors, the Kunz family and Ryan Hendricks, who kicked open a hole in the garage door, used a garden hose to fight back the flames, and literally saved our house from burning to the ground. Next, a big thank you to the staff and families at Cedar Wood, Jefferson and Mill Creek elementary schools. We also were assisted by Gold Creek Church and Trinity Episcopal Church. And finally, we can’t begin to say thank you enough to the numerous individuals who have helped with meals, financial support, clothing and toy donations. There were so many, we can’t even begin to name everyone who came to our rescue!
During this time of giving thanks, and of celebrating with family, we know how very fortunate we are to live in a community that cares about and supports one another. We thank you all.
