How can poor vote Republican?

It always amazes me when people with low incomes vote Republican. They are not looking out for the poor or middle class, and never have. They just want to fill the pockets of the nation’s wealthiest people, and that is the bottom line. Whenever someone tells me that Republican economic policies benefit the working class, I offer this opinion on the subject: If they are so good, then why are the states that vote republican so poor? The 10 poorest states in our country are all Republican, so to me that says it all.
