A Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office sergeant recently resigned apparently over information supplied to baristas, warning them of undercover officers coming to see if they showed their breasts. If checking on baristas is the best use of officers’ time, then we have too many of them. My home was burglarized and most everything of value was taken, along with items of no value except to me or my family. My safe was opened by a professional safe cracker (not his first or last job).
With a little effort I was able to find his name, a neighbor at the time, his past job, and current address. The address being one of four homes on a very short cul-de-sac. The police detective told me to mind my own business when I tried to give them my information. They were not interested in my detective work. Everything was dropped, no investigation, no arrests. It appears that law enforcement’s priorities have been misplaced. There seems to be time for victimless crime, but not for serious criminals.
