Writer captured her true essence

My family and I would like to compliment Herald writer Sharon Salyer for her Feb. 14 article, “Teacher helps build bridges.” We feel that she did a remarkable job of capturing the true essence, spirit and significance of Shirley Walthall and her contributions to the Everett education community. We have been able to offset our grief of her loss, with an element of pride for the changes and values that she helped to facilitate in a community which we and others, have come to love. Very well done!

Bennie J. Walthall
