Notes: The Tips are once again without center Matt Fonteyne, who sits out for the second time in three games after aggravating a lower-body injury in Wednesday’s 4-3 shootout loss to Tri-City. Winger Logan Aasman remains out because of a concussion. Goaltender Carter Hart makes his 20th appearance of the season, joining Leland Irving (2004-05) and Kent Simpson (2008-09) as 16-year-old goalies to reach the 20-game mark with the Tips.

Notes: Vancouver plays without overage winger Matt Bellerive because of illness and defenseman Shaun Dosanjh because of an upper-body injury. Also, defenseman Arvin Atwal is out because of a team-imposed suspension and defenseman Josh Thrower will be a game-time decision, requiring the Giants to call up 16-year-old d-man Matt Barberis for the game. If Thrower can’t go, Ryley McKinstry will take his place.
