Some brief notes:

– The 15 players Everett selected were the most the Tips have ever taken in a draft. The most previously was 13 in 2003 (the team’s first draft) and 2012. Therefore, Everett must have cleared off some space on its protected list to draft so many players.

– Eight of Everett’s 15 picks were Americans, which is a huge ratio. Granted, seven of Everett’s eight picks were Canadians, so the Tips played it safe early in the draft. But it’s a good bet many of the American picks will require recruitment.

– There’s two Americans, however, who will probably require less of a sales pitch as Wylie and Studioso are both products of Everett Youth Hockey. They’re the first players ever selected out of EYH. Indeed, it was a record year for Snohomish County as four local products — Wylie, Studioso, Snohomish goalie Dominick Vlaha (eighth round to Tri-City) and Monroe forward Luke Ormsby (ninth round to Seattle) — were picked. That’s one more local product than were picked in all previous bantam drafts combined.
