First, a number of you have asked me on social media for an update on Bradly Goethals, the forward prospect the Everett Silvertips acquired from the Brandon Wheat Kings last week.
It appears Goethals will not be joining the Tips in the near future. He has been removed from the Everett roster online and I’ve learned he returned home to Manitoba for personal reasons.
Second, the Tips have another big game tonight as they play at Kelowna. Orrin Centazzo suffered an undisclosed injury Tuesday night, so Gianni Fairbrother has been called up for the time being. Fairbrother played in three games with the Tips in last year’s playoffs, but was returned to the midget ranks after he was a healthy scratch several times early this season.
Third, Silvertips owner Bill Yuill was inducted into the Alberta Order of Excellence today in Edmonton. It’s the highest honor the province bestows on citizens.
Fourth, Everett moved up one spot to No. 8 in the latest CHL rankings:
#CHL Top-10 for Week 5: 1-SHA, 2-REG, 3-ROU, 4-WSR, 5-PG, 6-SNB, 7-HAM, 8-EVT, 9-SAR, 10-SC. HM: BLB, KIT, ER pic.twitter.com/sIEbOldntO

Finally, the U-16 West Canada Cup began today and I inadvertently omitted Tips prospect Mark Liwiski from yesterday’s blog post. He is one of three Everett prospects competing for Team Manitoba.
