The Glacier Peak and Shorecrest softball teams are teaming up to pink the diamond.
The Grizzlies-Scots will be playing the first annual Softball Pink Night on Monday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at Shorecrest High School. All donations from the fundraiser and BBQ will benefit the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
The decision to start the pink night tradition came from the fact that currently there are four mothers of Shorecrest softball players who have fought or are continuing the fight against cancer. The funds raised will go specifically towards Breast Cancer and Multiple Myeloma research.
Each player from both teams are seeking donations from family and friends in three categories; runs, hits, and stolen bases based on the stats from this game. In addition to player participation, there will be a “pass the hat” donation and ribbons — which can be personalized — will be sold and hung on each dugout.
For more information or to donate, contact Shorecrest softball coach Jackie Berg at firstname.lastname@example.org or Glacier Peak coach Brad Johnson at email@example.com.
SCCA will have a table there that night as well. It will provide cancer information, contacts, and free give aways.
It would be wonderful to receive support in any capacity possible. If you need additional information you may reach either coach, or myself. Everyone can make a difference by one pitch, one hit, one stolen base, or one run at a time.
