Prep boys basketball: Meadowdale 54, Everett 26

LYNNWOOD — The Meadowdale boys basketball team forced 22 turnovers and held Everett to single-digit points in three quarters in a dominating 54-26 victory over the Seagulls on Thursday night.

“The guys did a great job of buying into the defensive gameplan and really executing as the game went on,” Meadowdale assistant coach Paul Werner said. “As (the coaches) made adjustments they really clamped down defensively.”

Caleb Tingstad scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Mavericks, who out-rebounded the Seagulls 32-18.

“(Tingstad) was a senior stepping up and making plays,” Werner said. “He did a great job of recognizing his opportunities and leading us.”

Chris Bell scored eight points to lead Everett in the loss.
