SNOHOMISH — Arlington nearly forced a tie with Wesco 4A North leading Snohomish, but Ellie Otteson’s goal in the last five seconds of double overtime turned it into a win for the Panthers.
With the final seconds ticking off the clock Morgan Green got the ball about 35 yards out and pushed the ball past several defenders. Green then saw Otteson making a run and split the defense with a pass. Otteson took a couple of touches then slotted it past the keeper from about eight yards for the game-winning goal.
Snohomish led 2-0 midway through the first half thanks to goals from Liz Daly and Morgan Green, both assisted by Taylor Morrell. But the Panthers couldn’t hold the lead, giving up a goal early in the second half to Bre Morren. Then Olivia Larson scored on a free kick in the 75th minute to force overtime.
