MILL CREEK — The Stanwood girls wrestling team finished in fourth place, the best of any of the 11 local teams participating in Saturday’s Lady Wolf Pack Tournament, a 45-team girls wrestling event at Jackson H.S.
Sedro-Woolley won the tournament with a team score of 153. Stanwood finished with 122 points as a team.
Laura Charboneau had a first-place finish for the Spartans wrestling in the 265-pound weight class with a 53 second pin against Lynden’s Luisa Garcia. Casey Mather, in the 112-pound class, contributed a second-place finish for Stanwood, losing a 4-0 decision to Federal Way’s Bianca Arizpe.
Everett’s Justine Palabrica won an 8-2 decision over Mariner’s Julie Mata in the 100-pound weight class.
Lakewood (15th place), Everett (16th), Mariner (22nd), Lynnwood (24th), Sultan (28th), Snohomish (29th), Kamiak (35th), Cascade (38th), Lake Stevens (42nd) and Mountlake Terrace (45th) all participated in the tournament.
