Four local prep events to keep an eye on this week:
Boys soccer: Kamiak at Lake Stevens, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. In a rematch between two Wesco 4A title contenders, Lake Stevens looks to avenge last month’s 1-0 loss to Kamiak. With less than two weeks remaining in the regular season, the top five Wesco 4A teams are all within three points of each other. Lake Stevens (21 points) is only one point out of first place, and Kamiak (19 points) is just three points back.
Baseball: Meadowdale vs. Shorewood, 4 p.m. Tuesday at Meadowdale H.S. and 4 p.m. Wednesday at Meridian Park. After a pair of one-run wins over Mountlake Terrace last week, Meadowdale holds a one-game lead over the Hawks for first place in the Wesco 3A South. The Mavericks look to protect their lead in a pivotal two-game series against Shorewood, which trails Meadowdale by two games.
Softball: Monroe at Lake Stevens, 4 p.m. Wednesday. Expect the Bearcats to be hungry for revenge after last month’s 3-2 loss to standout pitcher Sara Johnson and the Vikings. Both teams are fighting to stay within striking distance of Wesco 4A-leading Jackson, with Lake Stevens one game behind the unbeaten Timberwolves and Monroe two games back.
Softball: Everett at Snohomish, 4 p.m. Friday. In a pivotal Wesco 3A North rematch, Everett looks to avenge last month’s 11-1 loss to Snohomish. The Panthers sit atop the Wesco 3A North with an 11-0 conference record, followed by the second-place Seagulls at 9-1. Snohomish also has key games earlier in the week against Meadowdale and Marysville Pilchuck.
