The Seahawks on Friday locked up another key player from their Super Bowl championship team, agreeing to a deal with Doug Baldwin that will keep the wide receiver in Seattle for three more seasons, paying him $13 million over that span.

Baldwin, who came to Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2011, was a restricted free agent. Had he and the Seahawks not been able to agree to a new contract, he would have played this year under the second-round tender placed on him this offseason, then become an unrestricted free agent in 2015.
Baldwin led the Seahawks in receiving yards (788) and receptions (51), as a rookie, then after injuries limited his production in 2012, he came back with a strong 2013 season, catching 50 passes for 778 yards. Over three seasons, Baldwin has 130 catches for 1,932 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Baldwin also came up big in the postseason, catching 13 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown in three games as Seattle claimed its first Super Bowl title. He had six catches for 106 yards in the NFC championship game, as well as a 69-yard kickoff return that helped change the momentum in the game.
Baldwin has so far made his mark primarily as a slot receiver, but showed he also could play as an outside receiver in the second half of last season after Sidney Rice went down with a knee injury. With Golden Tate leaving in free agency, Baldwin could see more time in that role going forward.
