2016 HERALD ALL-AREA FOOTBALL TEAMS

OFFENSE

PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Conor Bardue, Lake Stevens, QB, jr.

Bardue threw for 3,023 yards and 41 touchdowns while completing 71 percent of his pass attempts.

COACHES OF THE YEAR

Michael Bumpus, Monroe

Bumpus led the Bearcats to a 9-2 record and their first state berth in 20 years.

Matt Leonard, Meadowdale

Leonard led the Mavericks to a 10-3 record, a share of the Wesco 3A/2A South title and their first state semifinal berth in program history.

Keauntea Bankhead, Lynnwood

Bankhead led the continued resurrection of the Royals program, as Lynwood posted an 8-3 record.

FIRST TEAM

Conor Bardue

Quarterback, Lake Stevens, jr.

Bardue threw for 3,023 yards and 41 touchdowns while completing 71 percent of his pass attempts.

JJ Jerome

Running back, Monroe, sr.

Jerome ran for 2,050 yards and 27 touchdowns while adding 335 receiving yards and four receiving scores.

Princeton Lollar

Running back, Oak Harbor, sr.

Lollar rushed for 2,027 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Keegan Stich

Running back, Snohomish, jr.

Stich tallied 2,095 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns, adding 301 receiving yards and two receiving scores.

Kyler Gordon

Wide receiver, Archbishop Murphy, jr.

Gordon posted 802 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns.

Josh Johnston

Wide receiver, Snohomish, sr.

Johnston caught 17 touchdowns and racked up 915 receiving yards.

Haelin Roberts

Wide receiver, Meadowdale, sr.

Roberts tallied 1,163 receiving yards on 52 catches, with seven touchdowns.

Zach Plummer

Tight end, Meadowdale, sr.

Plummer caught 41 passes for 584 yards and seven touchdowns.

Abraham Lucas

Offensive lineman, Archbishop Murphy, sr.

Lucas, a first-team all-Cascade Conference selection, has verbally committed to play at Washington State University.

Martin Napeahi

Offensive lineman, Archbishop Murphy, sr.

Napehai, a first-team all-Cascade Conference selection, is drawing some interest from college programs.

Zack Kylany

Offensive lineman, Lake Stevens, sr.

Kylany was a first-team all-Wesco 4A selection.

Josh Jerome

Offensive lineman, Monroe, jr.

Jerome was a first-team all-Wesco 4A selection.

Seth Roberts

Offensive lineman, Lake Stevens, sr.

Roberts was a first-team all-Wesco 4A selection.

Anfernee Gurley

All-purpose, Archbishop Murphy, sr.

Gurley tallied 583 receiving yards, 437 rushing yards, seven receiving scores and five rushing touchdowns, one kickoff return for a 95-yard touchdown and 216 yards on 11 punt returns with two touchdowns.

Ryan Henderson

Placekicker, Archbishop Murphy, sr.

Henderson connected on all 59 of his point-after attempts and 12 of his 14 field-goal attempts, with a long of 56 yards.

SECOND TEAM

Drew Tingstad

Quarterback, Meadowdale, sr.

Tingstad completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,236 yards, 29 touchdowns and nine interceptions while adding 318 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

Blake May

Running back, Lake Stevens, sr.

May tallied 1,580 yards and 20 touchdowns rushing, and 341 yards and five scores receiving.

Caleb Perry

Running back, King’s, sr.

Perry, who has drawn offers from several Division-I programs, posted 1,231 rushing yards, averaging 11.5 yards per carry, and 19 touchdowns.

Hunter Eckstrom

Wide receiver, Lake Stevens, sr.

Eckstrom posted 673 yards, 47 catches and 10 touchdowns receiving, and 355 yards and six touchdowns rushing.

Daniel Arias

Wide receiver, Jackson, jr.

Arias caught 49 passes for 1,030 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Jake Rasmussen

Wide receiver, Lake Stevens, sr.

Rasmussen posted 788 yards on 38 catches and 15 touchdowns.

Terrance Bloss

Tight end, Cascade, sr.

Bloss caught 18 passes, two for touchdowns.

Jacob Laban

Offensive lineman, Lynnwood, sr.

Laban was a first-team all-Wesco 3A/2A South pick.

Nathan Mead

Offensive lineman, Monroe, jr.

Mead was a first-team all-Wesco 4A pick.

Oliver Dilts

Offensive lineman, Kamiak, sr.

Dilts was a first-team all-Wesco 4A selection.

D’Andre Bellamy

Offensive lineman, Oak Harbor, sr.

Bellamy was a first-team all-Wesco 3A North pick.

Jesus Echevarria

Offensive lineman, Archbishop Murphy, sr.

Echevarria was a first-team all-Cascade Conference selection.

Isaiah Cole

All-purpose, Monroe, jr.

Cole caught 45 passes for 839 yards and 12 touchdowns, racked up 554 kickoff return yards with two scores and 157 yards on punt returns with two touchdowns.

Will Schafer

Placekicker, Meadowdale

Schaefer connected on 36 of 39 point-after attempts and made all 10 of his field-goal attempts, with a long of 41 yards.
