Tips charts 2: WHLers and the NHL draft

This series of charts involves NHL draft picks from the WHL.

Everett’s first bantam draft came in 2003, which was for players born in 1988. Those players were first eligible for the NHL draft in 2006. Therefore, the time period for these charts is from 2006 to the present.

First, here’s the number of NHL draft picks from each WHL team from 2006 to the present:

Everett ranks high on both these lists. The Tips are tied for seventh among the WHL’s 22 teams in total NHL draft picks, and they top the list when it comes to first rounders. Everett may not have many established NHL regulars right now, but that’s not because NHL scouts didn’t like the team’s talent.
