Tips training camp is approaching

It’s almost time for hockey season.

And I type that sentence as the thermometer is approaching 90 degrees. How does that always happen with a sport played on ice? But I digress …

Anyway, Silvertips training camp is just around the corner, with players reporting in nine days. Here’s a rudimentary schedule for training camp (which is following a familiar pattern):

Aug. 20 — Veterans and list players check in

Aug. 21 — Invitees check in, first day of practices

Aug. 22 — Practices and scrimmages

Aug. 23 — Scrimmages

Aug. 24 — Volunteer Cup placement games and Green vs. Grey game

Everything is at Comcast Arena’s main rink this year and all sessions are open to the public free of charge.

And I’ve provided the above video as a reminder of what’s on its way.
