SNOHOMISH — The South won the Wesco 4A boys soccer all-star game 2-1, and the Wesco 3A all-star game ended in a 3-3 tie as the North rallied from a 3-0 deficit at Veterans Stadium on Wednesday.
Momodou Drammeh (Lynnwood) scored to give the South a 1-0 lead in the 4A game and Carlos Rodriguez (Mariner) locked it up with an insurance goal with 10 minutes to play. Memo Mogollan of Mount Vernon scored in the final minute to save the North from a shutout. The 3A game was truly a tale of two halves, with Chris Iacolucci (Shorcrest) putting the South on the board, followed by Taj McChesney (Shorewood) and Morgan West (Shorecrest) goals to make it 3-0. The North responded with three unanswered goals by Gavin Stewart (Oak Harbor), Chase Lauinger (Stanwood) and Colin Cuchna (Stanwood). The South had two chances to win it in the last five minutes, but couldn’t put either of them in the net.
