I hope that everyone has had the chance to view the wonderful new mural on Main Street in Edmonds!
I have always enjoyed those in Toppenish and on Vancouver Island, as well as in many other small towns across the United States and the world. Now a new display of public art is part of our own community.
Pat Brier’s work is a great start on another way for Edmonds to become an even stronger town, and to be known as a place that encourages the arts of all sorts. I think this mural, and hopefully more to come, will be another draw to visitors who will increase the city’s revenues, as well as to artists who are attracted to Edmonds by its encouragement of the arts in so many ways: the Arts Festival, the Center for Performing Arts, the theaters, the ballet, the many art galleries and the Third Thursday Art walk.
The mural project is a very effective way to preserve Edmonds’ unique identity. As an Edmonds property owner, I hope everyone will encourage and support this new addition to Edmonds’ charming downtown!
