For a chance to unwind from a long week at school or work, visit the music series held at Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park on Friday and Saturday nights. The store offers a comfortable atmosphere, kid-friendly music that is great for dancing and a variety of delicious foods.
From the moment you walk in, it’s apparent how cozy it is at Third Place Books. The space has a warmth to it, cultivated with a large area for visitors to sit, eat, dance and relax while experiencing the variety of entertaining music offered on stage.
The music ranges from Latin to bluegrass, blues to swing, Afro-Cuban to Irish and more, according to the store’s schedule.
The night I attended, Black River Blues Band entertained visitors with its storytelling style, music and pleasant way of engaging its audience.
Third Place Books makes a point to select bands that play music all ages and ethnic backgrounds can dance to. Every time I have visited the space, I have seen guests of all ages and races, having fun and showing off their moves on the checkered dance floor located in front of the stage.
There are several great choices to choose from when it comes to your dining delight.
Burney BBQ Brothers offers burgers and barbecue dishes, including mini barbecue sandwiches with fries or macaroni and cheese for your little ones; The Big Time offers pizza and pasta including the kid-popular spaghetti and meatballs; and El Oso serves burritos, tacos and the kid-endorsed triple-cheese quesadilla. There is also Kitto Japanese food for those who like sushi, a ramen variety and the fun bubble tea. And for extra-large cakes fit for a king, visitors can try Honey Bear Bakery, which also serves gourmet sandwiches, breakfast scrambles and baked goods.
So, whether you want to relax the week away in a warm environment, enjoy a great meal while listening to diverse music or get up and show your friends and family your dance moves, check out the music series at Third Place Books. You will be glad you did.
