PAWS update: Birds and their broods
Text and photos by Kevin Mack of PAWS
Breeding season continues for birds on the PAWS Campus. While some species are still in the process of nest construction, others are already fledgling young. Still others have yet to begin their annual mating rituals. Some unfortunate nesting pairs have already lost broods, but it is early enough in the season that they will likely try again. The bushtit family that has been building a nest over the path to the wildlife center volunteer shed has made a lot of progress in the past two weeks (above).
