Jackson beats Kamiak with free throws

MILL CREEK — Jackson’s top priority this season hasn’t been to draw fouls.

But if the Timberwolves have many more nights like Tuesday, that may soon change.

Jackson shot 34 attempts from the foul line, knocking down 27 of them. In a low-scoring grudge match with Kamiak, that was plenty enough to post a 58-39 victory in Wesco South boys basketball action.

“We did a nice job of getting the ball to the basket. Then we took advantage of what we got at the line,” Jackson head coach Steve Johnson said. “They fell behind, so they had to be more aggressive, and we were intelligent enough to keep attacking.”

Brett Kingma was a perfect 8-for-8 from the line for the Timberwolves and Ryan Todd finished 9-for-10. Not surprisingly, those were Jackson’s top two scorers with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
