ARLINGTON — Meadowdale came out on fire on Tuesday night, establishing an early lead against Arlington in a game in which it would hang on to win 57-54.
Meadowdale held a 29-21 lead at halftime, but Arlington made a run in the third quarter to cut the lead to 44-43 late in the second half. The two teams continued to trade baskets until the game came down to one final possesion for Arlington with 30 seconds remaining.
With Meadowdale clinging to a 57-54 lead, Arlington set up a play for a 3-pointer, but Cole Carpenter’s attempt fell short at the buzzer.
“It was a real good battle,” Arlington coach Nick Brown said.
Carpenter led Arlington with 16 points and had some timely assists.
“Cole did a really good job of distributing the ball, and had some great assists,” Brown said.
Connor Hamlett led Meadowdale with 20 points.
