Snohomish clinches district playoff berth

SNOHOMISH — Having an unbeaten record in the Wesco North is a big deal for the Snohomish girls basketball team.

Apparently clinching a district playoff spot has a different feeling.

Snohomish outscored Cascade 40-15 in the second and third quarters — utilizing a halfcourt trap for steals and transition baskets — after trailing Cascade 13-5 early in the game. Snohomish improved its record to 12-0 and clinched a Wesco North district playoff berth with the victory.

Snohomish head coach Ken Roberts didn’t talk about the playoff implications before the game, even though a win meant a district playoff berth.

“We didnt even mention it,” Roberts added. “I guess they will find out at practice tomorrow.”
