OLYMPIA – Gov. Chris Gregoire said today there are no known cases of the swine flu in Washington.
“There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for the people of this state to panic but we all need to be vigilant.”
The state is expected to receive from the federal government enough anti-viral medication to treat 230,000 people.
“The federal public health emergency is now in place. As a result I immediately authorized our state to receive anti-viral medication in the event that we need it to treat any of our citizens for the swine flu.”
“We have called for a supply to cover about 230,000 doses. We already have some in our state.”
