Arlington: Planning official reappointed
Longtime Arlington Planning Commissioner Mike Thomas was reappointed for another six-year term to the planning board.
At its meeting Monday, the Arlington City Council approved Thomas’s reappointment. City officials said Thomas has expertise and leadership skills valuable to the planning commission.
Darrington: Library helps job seekers
Darrington Library is among the Sno-Isle Libraries to provide online job search resources.
Sno-Isle Libraries recently received grant money to buy 30 notebook computers to be used by job seekers. The computers provide online resources for skills building and job searches and allows the library to waive the two-hour-a-day computer limit.
Job seekers often need more time for job searching, completing an application, developing a resume, or working to improve their computers skills, library spokeswoman Mary Kelly said.
Along with Darrington, the computers also are available at the Granite Falls, Marysville, Stanwood, Lynnwood, Oak Harbor and Sultan libraries.

Everett: Food and craft festival Friday
Trinity Lutheran Church’s annual Food and Craft Festival is planned for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2324 Lombard Ave. in Everett.
Lunch is served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. There will be a Victorian Doll House raffle, too.
Granite Falls: Hearings on budget, taxes
Public hearings regarding the city’s property taxes and budget for 2010 are planned at a meeting of the Granite Falls City Council tonight. The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at City Hall, 206 S. Granite Ave.

Stanwood: Tea served during fundraiser
A variety of teas, sandwiches, scones and desserts will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Tea Room during the fifth annual Stanwood Community and Senior Center holiday craft bazaar.
The bazaar runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the center, 7430 276th St. NW.

Marysville: History text set for review
The Marysville School Board is considering adopting a new history book for eighth-grade Washington State history students.
The book, “The Washington Journey,” is available for public review from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 13 at the district office, 4220 80th St. NE.
