EVERETT — A suspect in a January fatal shooting at a W. Casino Road condominium is now in custody.
Anthony Ryan Devera, 21, turned himself in at the Everett Police Department’s north precinct over the weekend, Sgt. Robert Goetz said Tuesday.
Devera was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on $1 million bail Sunday for investigation of second-degree murder.
Prosecutors allege the defendant shot and killed Pavel Datskiy, 24, of Lynnwood, at the condominium at 1001 W. Casino Road.
Detectives learned from a man who lives in the unit that he and several friends, including Devera, had been at the home most of the night Jan. 18 playing cards and dominoes, drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana, according to an Everett District Court search warrant. Most of the guests had left, but Devera and Datskiy remained overnight.
When a friend entered the condominium the following morning, he discovered Datskiy dead. The victim was found upright on a sofa with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his chest, according to court papers.
Devera allegedly told the tenant that he and Datskiy “had exchanged words,” and said, “you didn’t see me at your place,” Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Adam Cornell wrote in charging documents.
There is surveillance footage of him walking away from the apartment.
