It’s too late to be a pioneer in the Old West — thank you Meriwether Lewis and William Clark — but you can find out what life was like in the early days of settlements in the Pacific Northwest.
This weekend, the Muzzleloading Arms & Pioneer Craft Show returns to the Evergreen State Fairgrounds.
A working blacksmith will demonstrate those skills while other people will spin wool by hand. Vendors will sell lots of traditional goods including pre-1840 muzzle loading firearms, beads, historical and how-to books, American Indian crafts, period clothing, fur and leather goods and shooting supplies.
It’s the largest show to commemorate the old fur trade, colonial America and the Civil War. The event is sponsored by the Cascade Mountain Men.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $5, free for kids under 12. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
