Here’s where the teams stand in the race for the Western Conference’s final two playoff spots, following Everett’s two-game sweep of Victoria:
7. Seattle, 53 GP, 40 Pts
8. Victoria, 56 GP, 40 Pts
9. Everett, 54 GP, 37 Pts
10. Prince George, 52 GP, 34 Pts
Everett is the hottest of the four teams, having won six of its past 10. Victoria has won three of its past 10, while Seattle and Prince George have both won two of their past 10.
Ryan Harrison has been leading the recent charge for Everett. The 19-year-old, who’s now playing on the left wing, has eight goals and 18 assists in his past 22 games, including the game-winning goal in both games in Victoria. Don’t look now, but he’s pulled within five points of Josh Birkholz for the team lead in scoring.
The Tips will be seeing a lot of the Vancouver Giants in this next stretch. Everett plays a home-and-home with the Giants Friday and Saturday, and three of the Tips’ next four games are against Vancouver.
And lastly, a reminder that Friday’s game is being televised live on ROOT.
