SEATTLE — An Arlington man was sentenced Thursday to three years in federal prison for illegal gun possession.
Federal prosecutors alleged that Irvin J. Moreno, 23, a convicted felon, sold guns to someone working with law enforcement. Moreno reportedly has ties to a criminal street gang.
He was convicted in 2008 of felony drug possession. The conviction prohibited him from possessing guns. Investigators allege that Moreno sold guns on four separate occasions to a confidential informant. The first two purchases happened at an Everett storage facility. Moreno was paid $1,000 for an assault rifle. A week later he sold two more rifles. Federal agents determined that one of the rifles was stolen.
Moreno was arrested in September when he set up a fourth sale. He pleaded guilty in November to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Once he’s released from prison he’ll be under supervision for three years.
