Glacier Peak senior accepts gymnastic scholarship to Cal

Jordan Widener of Snohomish, a senior at Glacier Peak High School, has decided to accept a gymnastics scholarship to attend the University of California in the fall. Widener plans to sign an NCAA national letter of intent on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old Widener trains at Leading Edge Gymnastics Academy in Everett. She began competing at Level 10 in 2010. At last weekend's Region II Championships in Beaverton, Ore., Widener tied for second in all-around (36.125) and placed first in floor exercise (9.475) in the Senior C Division.
