EVERETT — A judge Monday maintained bail at $50,000 for a woman who was arrested over the weekend after a two-hour standoff with Marysville police.
The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in the 6900 block of 47th Avenue.
Police received reports that a woman, 26, had pointed an assault-style rifle at her ex- boyfriend, police said. The man and woman have a child, 3, who was in the apartment at the time of the incident, according to court records.
The man, 21, told police the woman was mad at him for leaving the apartment earlier.
He said she hit him in the face and chest when he returned, according to court papers. That’s when she allegedly pointed the loaded rifle at his chest and said, “I ought to kill you,” police wrote in an affidavit to establish probable cause for her arrest.
The man eventually was able to leave the apartment with the child.
The woman initially refused police commands to come outside, officials said.
Officers converged on the area, blocked off roads and advised neighbors to remain inside while they attempted to talk with the woman.
She eventually surrendered and was arrested for investigation of second-degree domestic violence assault and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The woman reportedly told police she’d hidden the rifle under a bed.
