There is a lot going on in the local music scene and it’s time for a roundup of some current or recent happenings. This will be a little bit all over the place, but it’s all great stuff.
Everett band I Will Keep Your Ghost is working on a new five-track EP. Back on July 3 they played a song from the new project called “Tree Line,” which you can see them perform below. No release date or name for the EP just yet, but I will post an update as soon as there is more info. So far it sounds pretty great.
On July 24, Seattle soul singer Allen Stone was on TV again. This time he was performing his song “Sleep” on the Late Show with David Letterman. You can see his performance here.
Walking Papers played a Jet City Stream session on the last night of the Capitol Hill Block Party. This is only the third time Walking Papers has performed live and this time they added ex-Guns N’ Roses base player Duff McKagen.

On Sunday night, Brothers From Another performed at The Croc in Seattle. They shared the stage with Seattle rappers Grynch, Prometheus Brown of Blue Scholars, and members of The Physics. Near the end of the show they performed their song “Molly Moon” about the Capiltol Hill ice cream shop of the same name. While they performed “Molly Moon,” Molly herself appeared on stage, delivered an ice cream cone to the BFA guys and stayed on the stage dancing for the rest of the song.
Brothers From Another, you’re doing it right. Also, the new Taco Tuesday EP is “off the hook,” as the kids say, and everybody should go get it.
The last item I wanted to get to is the new record from Fox and the Law called “Scarlet Fever.” The record will be released later this month but in the mean time I was able to get my hands on a track titled “Unbelievable.” (Click here to hear it.) Since seeing these guys when they played in Everett back in June, I am completely in love with their sound and can’t wait to hear the whole record.
