First off, bonus points if you got the movie reference in that headline.
Now, onto the links, which to nobody’s surprise are dominated by talk of Percy Harvin, who will have hip surgery Thursday, likely keeping him out until late in the season.
Here’s our story in today’s Herald. We also had a story on Seattle’s other star receiver, Sidney Rice, traveling to Switzerland for a non-surgical procedure on his knee.
Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated says that while Harvin’s injury will sting, it’s hardly time to cancel the season.
Burke writes that Harvin’s surgery: “means that the Seahawks will be without their new, high-priced wide receiver for at least the first several weeks of the season, leaving them with … well, basically, the same offense that helped them go 11-5 last season, give or take a few pieces.”
Mike Sando of ESPN breaks down the Harvin situation, including the options the Seahawks have from a roster standpoint.
And if you’re tired of reading about Harvin’s injury, here’s the folks from NFL Total Access debating which second-year QB will have the best season.
Brock and Danny at 710 ESPN Seattle had a pretty funny and enlightening interview with Russell Okung and Max Unger yesterday that is definitely worth a listen.
And Peter King of Sports Illustrated, who was in town last week, has this postcard from training camp.
