A weekend overflowing with fun things to do

Whew. This weekend is packed to overflowing with fun things to do. If you can’t find something to do, you’re just not trying. Or maybe you’re just exhausted by so many great options. We totally understand.

Eat your fill: A Taste of Edmonds runs through Sunday. There will be, you guessed it, a ton of food to sample. There will also be music and activities for kids. Check out the details in our story here.

On the river: The Stillaguamish Festival of the River and Pow Wow is Saturday and Sunday at River Meadows County Park in Arlington. There will be entertainment, a powwow and children’s activities. The event is free. Get details in our story here.

Everyone loves a parade: Stan Boreson will serve as the grand marshal of the Lowell Parade on Saturday morning. The Lowell neighborhood is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The fun continues after the parade at Lowell Neighborhood Park. The details are in our story here.

All-night music The Darrington Meltdown runs through Sunday. Bands from all over will perform throughout the night. More than 50 bands are on this year’s bill. Get details here.

A preview: Listen to Everett band the Moondoggies’ new album on Saturday. The band is hosting a listening party at the Skate Deck in Everett. Get the details in our story here.

For dogs, and their people: Show off your family’s best friend with a community dog walk and competitions. Mutt Strut is Saturday at Langus Riverfront Park in Everett. There will be vendors, displays and prizes. More information is in our story here.

A musical ogre: Kidstage puts on performances of Shrek on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Get all the info here.

For wine lovers: Sunsets in Snohomish, a wine walk in the downtown area, is 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Regional wineries will be featured in different shops. Bring your own glass. Click here for more information.

All local: The Marysville Street Festival will showcase local produce, artisans, musicians and artists along Third Street on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There will be music, food and activities for kids. Get more details here.

For adults: Check out a creative night of “post-apocalyptic” art at an adults-only show on Saturday. The “ApocaLips: Danger, Sex and Art” show will have bands, artists, performance art, some vaudeville and some neo burlesque. Get the details in our story here.

Old time: An Antique Tractor Show and Threshing Bee is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to Sunday at the Frohning Farm, 19524 Tualco Loop Road, Monroe. $6 (under 12 free.) There will be hay rides, tractor pulls, entertainment, vendors and rides for kids. More details are here.

Helping animals: The Sarvey Wildlife Care Center will offer a presentation about the rescue, rehabilitation and release of wildlife. It’s at 11 a.m. at the Sultan Library. Get details here.

For plant lovers: Fronderosa Frolic is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Specialty growers and artists will gather for a festival celebrating rare plants, gardening art and more. Fuchsia gazing: A juried show of fuchsias is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Country Village in Bothell. You can walk through the display garden and ogle the more than 25 varieties of hardy fuchsias. Experts will answer your growing and care questions, and many plants will be for sale. Blues: The Meerkerk Rhododendron garden on Whidbey Island has its Bluegrass in the Garden festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the gardens in Greenbank. Admission is $15. Children under 15 get in free, and dogs on leashes are welcome. More info is here.

Nifty rocks: Like rocks? The Rock and Mineral Sale is Saturday and Sunday in Edmonds. You’ll find minerals, fossils and jewelry too. Get more info here.

B-ball: Basketball, that is. A 3-on-3 tournament is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Arlington Airport, 18204 59th Drive NE. Rosters are online here.

For car lovers: The Collectors Car Show and Outdoor Market will be at the Camano Center at 606 Arrowhead Road on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. A poker run will be held in conjunction with the car show and will start at 7:30 a.m. Stop by the center to register your vehicle for the show or to sign up to be a vendor at the market.
