That’s right, hockey is about to begin again, if you can believe it.
The first wave of returning players has begun trickling in. The veterans officially report on Wednesday, with the invited players reporting Thursday morning just prior to the first on-ice sessions. Here’s the training camp schedule. Remember, all sessions take place at Comcast Arena and are open to the public free of charge.
Once again, I’ll be providing live updates from training camp via Twitter. You can follow me at @NickHPatterson. Feel free to tweet me any questions you may have during training camp.
There’s lots of intrigue heading into Everett’s camp this year. Kevin Constantine is back behind the bench for the Tips. Can he rekindle the magic from his previous tenure? Everett went young last season, so the Tips return almost all of their roster. With a year under their belts, will those young players take the next step to becoming impact players? There’s some potential high-impact newcomers in the likes of Jujhar Khaira, Linden Penner, Waltteri Hopponen and Ivan Nikolishin. Which of those players stick, and how much of an impact can they make? And, of course, this will be the first opportunity to see this year’s bantam draft picks (though first rounder Tyson Jost isn’t expected to arrive until Sunday). What kind of potential do those future Tips possess?
Just three more days before we can start answering those questions.
