The state of Washington Supreme Court’s “necessity” ruling is the last straw. (Sept. 19 article, “State Supreme Court: Medical necessity OK reason for pot.”) They have become social workers in black robes. There are too many activist judges that no longer regard the vote of the people or the Constitution as meaningful. There are the minimalist, perfectionists and fundamentalists judges, to which you must now add the runaway judges. The latter is becoming the controlling factor in the direction that this country is turning. Their rulings become precedent that many judges use in their rulings. How can we the people of the United States be saved from them and their radical rulings? You cannot vote them out because most of the ill-directed judges are appointed and the ones on the ballot mostly run unopposed.
