After starting three backups on the offensive line for two straight games, the Seahawks look like they could be getting back center Max Unger this week after the All-Pro missed two straight games with an arm injury.
“We’re going to count on Max practicing this week,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “We’ll bring him on in a limited fashion on Wednesday and then progress, but we think he’s going to make it this week. Holding him out this last week gives us a chance to say that now, so we’re looking forward to him playing.
On Zach Miller, who missed the game with a hamstring injury, Carroll had definitive news: “That’s going to be a day-to-day thing, we don’t know yet. We’ll see how it goes. It’ll take until the end of the week before we’ll have a chance to have him back.”
The only significant injury that came out of Sunday’s game was an ankle sprain suffered by middle linebacker Bobby Wagner, though Carroll didn’t know what that might mean for this week: “Bobby did sprain his ankle. He finished the game, so we’ll have to wait and see how that works out this week. We’ll see what that means.”
Also on the injury front, receiver Percy Harvin, who is recovery from hip surgery, put out another optimistic post on Twitter today.

Carroll said there’s still no timetable on Harvin’s return—he is eligible to come off the PUP list next week—but that the receiver continues to make good progress.
“Percy’s back and he’s ready to take the next level of training,” Carroll said. “I know he’s very enthusiastic about getting going and getting back and all. So we’ll just have to see what happens, but it’s a very positive response at this point, he’s in really good shape to take the next step. He is doing on-the-ground running now and working pretty hard at it. We’re anxious to kind of watch him. Our guys worked out with him today—I haven’t seen him yet live and in color—but I’m looking forward to see how this goes. His attitude is perfect about getting back and doing everything he can to get out there.”
On Sunday’s loss, Carroll said, “As we look at the vide of the game, we see so many opportunities there to have done better thing and take advantage of opportunities and field position and all kinds of stuff, so it’s a very frustrating game to leave out there. We started out very well, played very well for a good part of the game, then a really good Colt team put it together and did a great job finishing the football game.”
On the team’s third-down struggles, Carroll noted a lack of pass protection is the biggest issue, “The protection issues have made the quarterback move quite a bit and it hasn’t allowed us to be on-time the way we’d like to… That’s the factor that stands out the most.”
On the the 73-yard touchdown pass to T.Y. Hilton, which saw Richard Sherman try to pass the receiver off to safety help that wasn’t there, Carroll said, “We made a mistake. We saw something in a route, Sherman needed to stay deep on that one, and he just missed it, missed the look of it. It was a nicely done route, but it was just a thing that happened. It was just an unfortunate mistake.”
On Bruce Irvin’s first game of the season: “He did well. He was active, he was physical, he took at advantage of the opportunities he had with a good rush and a couple of good coverage opportunities. He tackled well. Shoot, he looked like he hadn’t missed a step.”
