David R. Herold, 28, was struck by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train around 3 a.m. Wednesday near the rail crossing at 172nd Streeet NE not far from 19th Avenue NE.
The medical examiner said his death was an accident. He died from blunt force injuries.
The train was headed from Portland, Ore. to Vancouver, B.C.. It hit the man about 200 yards north of the 172nd Street crossing.
Herold reportedly had a bicycle with him at the time.
The Marysville Police Department is investigating how he came to be fatally struck by the train.
