PASADENA, Calif. — Look for Carrie Mathison to hit the road in the next season of “Homeland.”
Showtime chief executive David Nevins said Thursday that Mathison, played by Claire Danes, will be on the ground in a foreign city.
She was mulling an offer to run the CIA office in Istanbul during this season’s final episode.
Nevin said the show is primarily about a CIA field operative, but it hasn’t spent much time showing her in the field.
“Homeland” took some critical shots for losing its way in its most recent season, which concluded with the execution of one of its lead characters, Nicholas Brody, played by Damian Lewis.
Nevins said “Homeland” is undergoing a “big reset.”
