Transit and wardrobe advice for the Seahawks parade

SEATTLE — The Seahawks and Seattle officials are telling football fans to dress warmly for Wednesday’s parade to celebrate the Super Bowl winners.

Today’s high temperature is forecast only in the 30s, but forecasters say it will be sunny.

The parade runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. down Fourth Avenue through downtown Seattle from Denny Way to CenturyLink Field. The mayor’s office said around 300,000 people are expected. If you can’t make it to downtown Seattle, festivities will be on several local TV channels.

The parade will feature Seahawks players, coaches, Sea Gals, Blitz and the blue Thunder drum line.

Officials also are urging fans to carpool or take transit to reduce congestion. Here are your public transportation options from Snohomish County:

Sounder service from Everett

Sound Transit is adding additional cars to the Sounder North train.

Everett to Seattle: 5:45 a.m., 6:15 a.m., 6:45 a.m. (three-car train) and 7:15 a.m. (five-car train).

Afternoon return trips, from King Street Station: 4:05 p.m. (five-car train), 4:33 p.m. (three-car train), 5:05 p.m., 5:35 p.m., and 6:50 p.m.

“Parking at all Sounder stations often fills early, and demand will be higher on Wednesday,” Kimberly Reason of Sound Transit said via email. “Riders who can’t arrive very early are encouraged to get dropped off.”

Reason says the best north line stations for people to drive into will be Everett and Edmonds, and that Mukilteo fills up early in the morning.

Sound Transit Express buses 510 (Everett – Seattle), 511 (Ash Way – Seattle), 512 (Everett – Seattle) and 513 (Everett – Seattle) will take off for Seattle as early as 4:20 a.m. The 512 will not stop at the Ash Way Park &Ride. Downtown buses will be rerouted at 10 a.m. Northbound trips to Snohomish County will not serve Fourth Avenue or Olive Way.

The Central Link light rail will run every seven and a half minutes throughout the day.
