Many local prep basketball teams are doing their part to stand up to Cancer this Friday in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer night.
The Arlington boys basketball team will play Oak Harbor and both teams will take part in a movement to help raise money for Cancer research. Caryn Brown, the wife of Arlington head basketball coach Nick Brown, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and the family says they were treated generously by the community. This is the fifth year that Arlington has hosted Coaches vs. Cancer as a way to give back to the community.
Those attending the game are encouraged to wear pink as the Eagles and Wildcats hope to “Pink Out the Gym.”
Several other local teams will also be holding similar events that same night.
