Defensive end Greg Scruggs will get another chance with the Seahawks after missing nearly two full seasons with knee injuries.
Scruggs, a seventh-round pick in 2012, was set to become a restricted free agent when the new league year begins, but he wrote on Twitter and Instagram that he has signed a one-year deal to stay in Seattle.
“Teams rarely take chances, let alone take chances after a double knee injury,” he wrote. “Thankful to the @seahawks for the opportunity to sign on another year and be the best I can be to help the team win.”
Scruggs showed promise as a rookie, appearing in 11 games and registering two sacks, but a knee injury ended his 2013 season before it started, and last year he appeared in just three games before landing on injured reserve again.
