KENNEWICK — A 22-year-old man is facing 15 years in prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times.
The Tri-City Herald reported that Christian Ramirez said nothing as the sentence was handed down in Benton County Superior Court on Tuesday. He pleaded guilty earlier this month to attempted murder.
Prosecutors say Ramirez deserves 15 years for the September 2014 attack, in which then-18-year-old Alondra G. Herrera was pulling out of her grandparents’ driveway when Ramirez attacked from the back seat and stabbed her in the neck.
The two got out of the truck and struggled as Ramirez repeatedly stabbed Herrera. He then took off in her truck.
Herrera said Tuesday that the attack left her scared and paranoid every time she gets in her car.
But she also said she forgives Ramirez.
