In response to letter, “Abortion agenda is the real issue” that the alleged agenda of Planned Parenthood is to encourage women to have abortions is such hogwash one wonders why it was published. Planned Parenthood offers health care to women who are low income and can’t afford other health care options for contraception, breast, cervical cancer screenings, pregnancy testing, pregnancy options counseling, treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, vasectomies, tubal ligations, treatments for menopause, as well as abortion services. The also offer testicular cancer screening for men. In 2009 only 3 percent of all their services were for abortions.
A woman’s choice to have an abortion is legal, and it is immaterial and irrelevant as to the causation being incest, or rape. In fact, I would venture to guess the most common reason is that the woman cannot physically, emotionally, or financially raise a child at that time in their life. To judge why a woman chooses to terminate a pregnancy is certainly not up to you or I.
Isn’t it ironic that its a man asking this question? When men can have babies or grow a uterus, perhaps their positions on abortions will be a little more credible.
