Wrong to value lions over people

So Cecil the lion merits a name and a half page story about his “outrageous” death. Perhaps we should assign a name to every baby that Planned Parenthood aborts, and then crunches to death in a special way so as not to harm the “important parts.” Planned Parenthood receives approximately $500 million a year in taxpayer funds, which by federal law it cannot spend on abortions, but how can we know where such large amounts of taxpayer money is really being spent? Instead of thoughtful commentary, we get a stupid cartoon about a woman putting locks on men’s pelvic areas and a letter from a woman who does not know that Americans are the greatest adopters in the world, going out of their way to adopt children of every nationality and disability. In fact, our daughter and son-in-law adopted such a child, adding her to their already large family. So let’s stop with the old saw about pro-lifers being unwilling to adopt the babies who would be available had they not been killed. Americans would be lined up for them, and you know it. And just for the record, I am not an old man, I am an old woman, and I have been furiously against abortion since I was a young woman. It is wrong to say that only men are against abortions, and even more wrong to denigrate them because they are.
