BELLINGHAM — A Lummi man accused of slamming his wife’s head through a wall has been sentenced to two years in prison.
The Bellingham Herald reports that 50-year-old Lonnie Jess James Sr. was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Seattle for domestic abuse by a habitual offender.
He had previously pleaded guilty to three separate charges of third-degree domestic violence assault and battery over the course of eight years in Lummi Tribal Court.
This is the third case prosecuted by the Western District of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for habitual offender charges.
