Weekend best bets: Fair, music, beach, planes, more

Up in the sky: Vintage Aircraft Weekend is from Friday to Sunday at the Historic Flight Foundation, 10719 Bernie Webber Drive, Mukilteo. You can see planes from the golden age of aviation, including a B-25 bomber. There will also be war bird and helicopter rides, live music, gourmet street food, vintage automobiles and a military vehicle encampment. Get more details in our story.

Beach time: This is the final weekend for the ferry to Jetty Island. The ferry runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday at 10th Street and W. Marine View Dr., Everett. Cost is $3 for parking. Suggested donation $2 for adults, $1 for kids.

So much music This is Bumbershoot weekend, and that means lots of music on the Seattle Center grounds. In addition to music, there will be comedy, theatre, film, visual arts and lots of activities for kids. Get more info in our story.

Gardening: Meerkerk Gardens on Whidbey Island is having a Labor Day sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. During the sale, entrance to the garden is free.
