Volunteer honored: Camano Island Fire and Rescue recently honored a long-time volunteer firefighter. Keith Pappas started volunteering for the department when he was 19. He is retiring 29 years later.
“The district is so thankful for the many years of service Keith has given us,” Fire Chief Michael Schick said in a news release. “It is so rare to find someone that is willing to give so much time and effort to their neighbors, and we are sorry to see him go.”
