Great. Now North Korea will want one: Walt Disney Co. opened Shanghai Disneyland, its first theme park in mainland China. The park is expected to become the most-visited theme park in the world (Page A9).

But expect some differences between Western Disney parks and China’s. To appease Communist Party leaders, Mickey Mouse is to be addressed as Chairman Mao-se.

Good guy with a garden tool: A man upset that U.S. Rep. Jim McDermott was supporting Hillary Clinton and not Bernie Sanders pleaded guilty to threatening to cut out the congressman’s tongue. Unnerved by the threat McDermott brought a shovel to his office for protection (Page A5).

And, yes, McDermott has a concealed carry permit for the shovel and keeps it locked in a garden shed.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1885, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York Harbor aboard the French ship Isere (Today in History, Page D6).

After waiting in a series of long lines at Ellis Island, Lady Liberty was allowed to enter the country based on her standing offer of employment as a torch-and-tablet bearer.
